Rosana Escobar : Listening to the fiber

Rosana Escobar perfectly illustrates what we call Natural Intelligence : the capacity to use natural cycles as a guide for our strategies and ambitions. Trained in biology in Colombia and then in design at the Design Academy of Eindhoven, she places plant fibers at the heart of in-depth research. For Rosana, working with a fiber is mainly about understanding it: studying its origins and environment to establish a dialogue.

By blending craft and industrial methods, Rosana allows the natural traits of the plant to define the final shape.

This approach relies on a relationship of reciprocity between the gesture and the will of the material. Her creations, from sculptures to textile objects, remind us that creating responsibly means, above all, knowing how to listen to what nature already tells us.
