At the same time a trade show and an art exhibition, supported by the French Ministry
of Culture and the WWF, 1.618 Paris is the first annual rendezvous of Sustainable Luxury.

Art, creativity, innovation and Sustainable Development at the service of a different Luxury!

An enigmatic name 1.618 = φ = the golden ratio

1.618 is a mathematical ratio that defines the divine proportion, a universal key to harmony that originates in nature and provides a formula at the service of aesthetics.

It is a definition in symbiosis with the positioning of the event.

A different Luxury

According to 1.618, today’s Luxury is foremost ethical, creative, essential, aesthetic and immaterial.

It defines itself through scarcity, the notion of time, heritage, respect but it is also:

/ A reflection of society’s transformations.

/ Research and innovation.

/ The will to preserve and respect natural resources.

/ The discovery of oneself through the object’s appreciation.

/ The expression of a creative imagination.

/ The respect of human rights.

/ The preservation of know-how.

A transverse selection

Convinced that the issues of Sustainable Development force us to be even more creative and inventive, 1.618 selects its exhibitors among different Luxury domains that take part in defining tomorrow’s Luxury.

A selection committee (NGO, sociologists, consultants…), unique decision-maker, validates the admissions.
An annual assessment of the evolution of innovation
and creation in matters of Sustainable Development.

Information through art and visual displays

1.618 wishes to inform and question through beauty, creativity and sensitivity.

A contemporary art exhibition will present art works and artists’ points of view to draw the visitors’ attention to issues of consumption and Sustainable Development.
Films and shorts from artists and Sustainable Development personalities are projected throughout the event.
