CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION
“LE TEMPS AU TEMPS”
CURATED BY COAL
1.618 signature contemporary art exhibition served as an invitation for the public to experience the relationship between time and sustainable development as expressed through the works of a dozen artists chosen by Lauranne Germond (COAL), the curator of the exhibition. The artwork challenges a number of sensitive issues facing our society today and serves as a moment of reflection on our society and our place in it.
Take the time.
For our 4th edition, our signature contemporary art exposition presented the works of artists such as Mark Formanek, Jérémy Gobé, Charlie Jeffery, Lucie & Simon or Baptiste Debombourg. The artists’ work reflected their vision of time and how we occupy it in our society.
Years, months, hours, minutes and seconds… fly by. Could art provide a freeze frame ? A moment of reflection and inspiration. The art exhibition immersed visitors in the world of contemporary art in all its forms and gave them the opportunity to enjoy an instant of solace, and engage in a joint reflection on time.
“SMILE CITY :
TODAY’S CITY, IMPROVED FOR TOMORROW”
CO-CURATOR: 1.618 PARIS, PHILIPPE SCHIEPAN (THE VIBRANT PROJECT), SOON SOON SOON
By 2050, the earth’s population will almost double, from 6 billion in 2011 to over 10 billion. Will technology be able to assist in absorbing this urban explosion?
In the hyper-urbanized world of the 21st century, how can we inject nature, life, and a more human experience into these dense urban areas? How will we live together in harmony?
And what if the future wasn’t grey, sad and hopeless? What if in fact it was happy, optimistic and creative? Consider the possibilities if the luxury of well-being, the aesthetic of a harmonious environment, and creativity was the standard way of life?
1.618 presented the most innovative and exciting projects and invited young entrepreneurs and industry leaders who are reinventing the 21st century for our generation and those that will follow through the perspective of sustainability. “SMILE CITY: Today’s city improved for tomorrow” proposed a new and positive vision of the next 40 years.4 THEMES:
Future of Mobility
4 TIME SEQUENCES:
2014 to 2023
2024 to 2033
2034 to 2043
2034 to 2053

JOIN THE DEBATE ON OUR CHANGING WORLD
Creating synergies, sharing views and experiences and giving rise to actions is the ultimate goal of the Circle. 1.618‘s conference program brought together industry leaders, brands and visionaries around debates and discussions focused on key themes facing our society in terms of sustainable development, luxury, time, and art. For the first time 1.618 also celebrated this century’s “New Heroes”, visionary entrepreneurs who are changing the world and who were invited to present their stories and vision to the public. Entrepreneurs, scientists, academics, opinion leaders and creatives took part in the debate.

OF THE TIMES!
Exhibition : Le temps au temps
An obsession with saving time, accelerating information streams, but also slow art, slow made, slow food, slow city, slow life…no longer just conceptual, concrete proposals are emerging which seek to re-address and re-define the way we live.
The spaces at 1.618 Sustainable Luxury evoked different times, related to the creative process, know-how, transmission, well-being, experience, emotions…
